PADUA – A new rule that prohibits the entry of veiled women in public office has come into place. A proper act especially in this period where Islamic threats are becoming more alarming.
Writes the Gazzettino : It is now forbidden to enter exhibitions and all municipal offices of Padua with the face covered by the veil . Muslim women should remove burqa or niqab and identify themselves.
The green light came this morning during the Board of Palazzo Moroni on request of mayor Massimo Bitonci who recalled the terror alert and stressed “that among the possible targets in the city without any doubt – he explained – are municipal institutions attended every day by thousands of people, including politicians, users, visitors, operators, and authorities .
