IMPENETRABLE fences and more armed officers are being drafted to Hungary’s borders in a fresh £23M bid to stem the 10,000-strong tide of illegal migrants.
The Hungarian government’s already tough stance on migrants is set to harden
Minister Karoly Kontrat said: “Not a single migrant should be able to stay in our territory illegally.”
Along with the extra cash injection of 9.3 billion Forints (£23 million) is a promise that any would-be migrant caught by the police within 8 kilometres of the border will be dealt with immediately and either given leave to stay or kicked out.

“The Government has recently allocated 9.3 billion Forints (23 million GBP) for the purpose of reinforcing the physical protection of the southern border.”
More armed officers are being drafted to the borders in a fresh £23M bid to stem the 10,000 illegals.
Government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs added: “More than 10,000 illegal border-crossers have been apprehended this year, and the number of asylum applications is even higher.
‘Not a single migrant should be able to stay in our territory illegally,’ Karoly Konrat stated.
The Spokesperson stated that the Hungarian Government is doing everything within its power to prevent the abuse of the system.
The Hungarian Parliament will start to debate the bill on the 17th May.
