2016 was a fantastic year for nationalism. We saw Brexit, the rise of Donald Trump, and the success of the various Nationalist political movements. It finally looks like Europe may be making some headway out of what will become known as the dark ages of the continent. We cannot be blinded by our success and must continue fighting the long and eternal struggle for the Italian folk. That being said, I am convinced that 2017 will be an even better year.
I remember watching the news back in June and hearing all of these horror stories about how the zombie apocalypse or nuclear war would happen if Britain exited the EU. Instead, the stock market had an amazing rally and new trade deals were drawn up. Immediately after Brexit, people were already pointing to the various British MP’s who were giving the run-around, and hinting at stopping the nation’s exit from the EU. It looks highly unlikely that Brexit will not occur, now that the apocalypse didn’t happen and the British people have gotten a taste of how much better they would have it out of the Eurozone. Hopefully France and Italy will be the next dominoes to fall, then the rest of the EU dictatorship will end.
By now, virtually everyone on Earth knows that Donald Trump won the Presidency of the USA. It was a historic moment, given that almost all news sources gave him a 10% chance of winning, at best. Trump is not a racial nationalist. I would even be going out on a limb by calling him a civic nationalist. However, his win shows that change in the name of Nationalism is possible. Perhaps Trump will be a stepping stone to something greater. Or, Trump could turn out to be a big let-down. Either way, we Italian-Americans are not stuck with the globalist Hillary Clinton. That, in and of itself, is a victory.
Nationalist movements continue growing throughout Europe. In 2016 we won various local level seats throughout Italy. We were especially successful in Rimini, Sicily, and many of the other localities throughout the Italian “boot”. We expect a strong momentum to continue going into 2017. The other European nationalist parties made headway; Golden Dawn continues going strong, the NPD is still standing strong after withstanding treasonous attacks from the German government, and the Alliance for Peace and Freedom is increasing its presence throughout the EU.
Finally, Forza Nuova USA was started in January 2016. When we began as a simple blog, I never thought that we would make it this far. We have been on Red Ice Radio, our General Secretary Frank got to go to Italy and meet our leader Roberto Fiore in person, and we have connected with Italian Americans all over the USA. 2016 was a great year indeed, and 2017 will be even better.
