To the Minister of the Interior, Dr. Marco Minniti
When it limits someone’s freedom, it limits the freedom of everyone. For this reason, the undersigned of this appeal do not understand and do not share the reasons for the prohibition, expressed by you in the press, on the conduct of the Freedom of expression manifestly demanded by Forza Nuova to the EUR on 28 October.
The development area has no public policy issues, Forza Nuova, for twenty years now, is a legally recognized movement that participates in various electoral competitions, represented in dozens of municipal councils, whose national secretary is a former MEP European.
On October 28, 1922, it is now far away, 95 years have passed since then , and it would be anti-historical and counterproductive to the image of a now pacified country, to re-emerge reasons that belong to contingencies no longer present.
As in recent years, Italy has shown that it has left behind a story of fratricidal mourning and divisions, the message that we believe must pass, Mr Minister, to all today’s and tomorrow’s Italians is that the tragic divisions of the past must never be nourished again : the times of the Guelphs and Ghibellines, as well as the fascists and antifascists, have come to an end. No more divisions between the Italians and the maximum freedom of expression for all, within the limits of due respect for public order and security, without distinction of political or ideological color.
Dear Mr Minister, the best message the country can give to finally settle accounts with a far-off past is in our view: the one who respects the rules and does not jeopardize the security of people and things can not and can not must receive bans ; must, therefore, have the “right to freely express their thoughts with the word, the script, and every other means of diffusion” in every day of the year. Contradiction to this principle is, in our opinion, a sign of weakness, of anti-historic authoritarianism and not of authority;a Minister of the Republic represents all the Italians not a faction and as such should be the guarantor of the constitutional liberties also for those Italians who intend to manifest in a civil and peaceful manner with Forza Nuova or with anyone else.
