There are few occurences I can think of more significant to the question this website seeks to analyze then Enoch Powell’s famous speech.
As one might expect, I have written about Enoch Powell and that speech on many occassions.
Here is one article on it.
And here is another, titled “What Would Enoch Powell Do?”.
Powell effectively had his career ended for the truths he advanced in that speech, and today- despite his predictions not just coming true but actually being vastly exceeded- he is still vilified by the same societal forces that attacked him so viciously at the time.
So what can we say today, 50 years on?
Only the truths, just as he did.
- The fact that he was 100% right.
- The fact that- as Douglas Murray often states- things far exceeded Powell’s most dire predictions.
- The fact that successive generations of UK leadership have engaged in the most destructive, evil actions in the history of those fair islands.
- The fact that we do not have another fifty years to hope for things to turn around.. as the UK will not survive that long.
Anyway gentlemen, I can think of no better way to commemorate this day than to let Mr. Powell speak for himself.
Here is a video of his speech:
